All The Gold Things!

Hello! Today I am up on the Color Cast Designs blog sharing the beginning of my wedding album!

Paper Issues Printable Spotlight...

I used the printable from the PI Crop for this layout of Olivia & I. This little dog is such a spoiled brat. She's my shadow and she loves cuddles!

The gold star confetti paired with the Twinkling gold glitter acrylic stars from Color Cast Designs make me so happy!  I la la la love gold embellishments right now. I cannot get enough! I also snuck in one of the little black ampersands from the Color Cast Designs Ampersand Set - perfect for adding a little bit here are there for more detail!

Burlap & Bouquets Bride...

Hello! Today I am sharing a mini album that I made for a colleague that was just married at The American Hotel in Salt Lake City. She was an absolutely stunning bride and I am so sad that we could not be in SLC for her wedding. When I saw her photos, especially her crown, it made me immediately think of the Burlap & Bouquets line from Fancy Pants. 

The album that I used is just a plain chipboard album cut using the an AccuCut and chipboard and burlap bound with office rings. I will link the supplies I used below each photo!

Cut it out Saturday...

Hello! There is a new FREE cut file up on the Paper Issues blog created by Jen Chapin this morning and I lurve it a lot! 

I used the navy constellation paper from Dear Lizzy's Hello Beautiful paired with the gold foil cardstock from Fancy Pants and I really love the results!

I added a title cut out from gold vellum on my Silhouette, some scraps of patterned paper from my stash and a glassine bag as layers under and around this sweet photo of Olivia fast asleep on Lily's pillow! 

I am also deeply in love with the new Bella Blvd fabric bows! You need them all! In every color! Trust me!

Take me to the zoo..

We took my nieces to the Sacramento Zoo for the day and it was so much fun (and exhausting - LOL)! These girls are like little Energizer Bunnies and they keep going and going and gong...

For this double-page layout I used Jen Hadfield's Home+Made collection for Pebbles - perfect for a bright sun shiny day at the zoo with these sweet girls!

The Color Cast Design's silly animal parade wood veneers were perfect for these pictures too! I love their funny little faces!

When you're happy & you know it...

I tend to be a dynamic scrapbooker in that I am equally comfortable putting together a double-page layout, a single-page layout or pocket pages and I include variations of all three styles into my everyday scrapbooking. While I don't do Project Life, I do tend to scrapbook a lot of our family vacations in mini albums using Pocket Pages (check out some examples here)! 

Yesterday I shared a double-page LO on the Paper Issues blog featuring these same exact photos and this same exact paper line! I wanted to demonstrate that you can use similar photos and product for so many different styles depending on your preferences!  

I have done baby books for my sister for each of my nieces and generally if I really love the photos I will also include a page in my personal album - that's why I have two pages to show you with this collection and these photos!

I am up on the Paper Issues blog today with a 2-page LO that I did for my niece's baby book. That's right, a 2-pager! 

For this layout I used Serendipity by Dear Lizzy for American Crafts. I absolutely la la la LOVE this line. It is one of my favorite lines of all times from Dear Lizzy (right after 5th & Frolic)! 

This line is absolutely perfect for these professional photos by Ford Family Photography of my niece taken in the Spring time.

The gold foam words from this line are perfection! 

And I don't know about you ladies, but I could not be more happy about the return of the puffy sticker to the world of scrapbooking! The Serendipity puffy stickers are no exception.

The pleather bows and the fabric XOXO and hearts are my absolute favorite embellishments from this line and I  always get so many miles out of the American Crafts ephemera packs!

Project Life...not just for pockets...

Sherri Funk is putting the Spotlight on Project Life today over on the Paper Issues Blog and I played along! I don't do traditional PL, but I love to incorporate all the cute cards in my regular scrapbooking!

These cards are all from the Be Fearless themed card pack. I love the gold glitter accents! 

I also used some Twine + Ink gold puffy heart stickers and some Evalicious wood veneer to embellish the LO!

Everything needs gold glitter spray paint...

When I saw these wood shapes at Michael's I knew they were begging to be altered with paper and glue. And glitter. Everything needs glitter. GLITTER. EVERYWHERE.

The first step was deciding how to add glitter. Obviously. Using one of my Studio Calico stencils I primed the wood with just some basic cream paint. One coat was good enough!

I then used washi tape to tape off the edges where I didn't want glitter. This is how I am going to use up the 424,901,351 yards of washi tape that I own!

Now for the fun part! Using a big box outside, I placed my project flat on the ground and using straight and study sprays in one direction I added a healthy coat or two (or 6) of Krylon Glitter Spray Paint to my wood base! 

I let the spray paint dry for about 5-6 hours and then I gently peeled off the stencil to reveal THIS! It was love at first sight!! I almost contemplated just stopping here - LOL. There are some traces of cream paint peeking out from behind the glitter, but it is hardly noticeable. I tried to scrape it off gently but that was a bigger hassle and mess than it was worth - so I embraced the imperfection because, after all, this is handmade! 

My next step was to actually use the paper and glue! I chose the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge collection and some sweet garden photos of my nieces taken by Ford Family photography and created a banner to go across my wood base.

The Bella Rouge ephemera pack provided the perfect bits and pieces for my photo display. The card stock butterfly, acetate bow and the acetate "ooh la la" were all from the embellishment pack! I really used up these darling bits on several projects. Ephemera packs are my all time favorite!! 

These rose gold charms from the Bella Rouge line are darling! In order to get the clip on charm to stay in place I stole two small beads from my daughter's collection and slipped them onto either side of my charm by stringing them onto the twine I was using! This may be my favorite part of the banner! I added a few more butterflies and hearts from the ephemera pack and I called it good!
