Let's Build a Snowman...

While Christmas has come and gone this little snowman card seems all too appropriate due to the weather happenings on the East Coast currently (regardless of whether or not I forgot to post it)!

I used the adorable little wood veneer snowmen from Color Cast Designs paired with some older Basic Grey papers for this quick card. I added a strip of kraft cardstock, sewed across it with my sewing machine and finished off with some chalking!

These little guys are so perfect for your winter and snow fun layouts and project life pages!

A Unicorn to Love...

When I saw this gigantic, pink unicorn for sale at Costco I knew that my nieces absolutely had to have one! I gave this pink unicorn to Honi as a birthday present and it was love at first sight!

I used the Bella Rouge collection by Pink Paislee for this layout - and the unicorn patterned paper and die cut were too perfect! You can still get your hands on Bella Rouge from the Paper Issues shop (use "Becky" for 20% off)!

The heart doily above and pink bow below are from Michael's Recollection brand - I love them!

Dreams do come true...

I'm telling you...I'm so not over the Bella Rouge collection by Pink Paislee yet! If you have little girls or nieces or pictures of yourself doing girly things you have to get your hands on this line! I la la la love it so much!

My nieces are obsessed with the Disney princesses, so when Dara met the real Snow White at Disneyland while wearing her Snow White costume it was like the heavens opened up and made all her little girl dreams come true!

I have been using patterned paper exclusively from the 6x6 pad from this collection - it has renewed my love for the 6x6 paper pad! LOL

The Bella Rouge ephemera pack has so many good bits in it! Acetate and card stock butterflies, diamonds, banners, hearts, quotes. I have used the heck out of my pack!

The pink bow is from Michael's Recollections brand Valentine's collection and the enamel dots are Doodlebug.

Thank you for taking a peek! XO.

Everything needs gold glitter spray paint...

When I saw these wood shapes at Michael's I knew they were begging to be altered with paper and glue. And glitter. Everything needs glitter. GLITTER. EVERYWHERE.

The first step was deciding how to add glitter. Obviously. Using one of my Studio Calico stencils I primed the wood with just some basic cream paint. One coat was good enough!

I then used washi tape to tape off the edges where I didn't want glitter. This is how I am going to use up the 424,901,351 yards of washi tape that I own!

Now for the fun part! Using a big box outside, I placed my project flat on the ground and using straight and study sprays in one direction I added a healthy coat or two (or 6) of Krylon Glitter Spray Paint to my wood base!

I let the spray paint dry for about 5-6 hours and then I gently peeled off the stencil to reveal THIS! It was love at first sight!! I almost contemplated just stopping here - LOL. There are some traces of cream paint peeking out from behind the glitter, but it is hardly noticeable. I tried to scrape it off gently but that was a bigger hassle and mess than it was worth - so I embraced the imperfection because, after all, this is handmade!

My next step was to actually use the paper and glue! I chose the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge collection and some sweet garden photos of my nieces taken by Ford Family photography and created a banner to go across my wood base.

The Bella Rouge ephemera pack provided the perfect bits and pieces for my photo display. The card stock butterfly, acetate bow and the acetate "ooh la la" were all from the embellishment pack! I really used up these darling bits on several projects. Ephemera packs are my all time favorite!!

These rose gold charms from the Bella Rouge line are darling! In order to get the clip on charm to stay in place I stole two small beads from my daughter's collection and slipped them onto either side of my charm by stringing them onto the twine I was using! This may be my favorite part of the banner! I added a few more butterflies and hearts from the ephemera pack and I called it good!

Thank you for taking a peek! XO.

Dog Thoughts...

This photo was just too perfect for the Color Cast Design Speech Bubbles that I have been holding on to! I always wonder what my pups are thinking. Most of the time they are probably just thinking that I am a weirdo for always taking photos of them and talking to them like they are babies!

I also used some older Queen & Co. patterned paper, brads and card stock stickers for this LO as well as some paw print ribbon from Creative Imaginations that I've had in my stash forever and a little dog bone paper clip!

And how cute is this wood veneer chunky pup from Color Cast Designs - you can choose from over 14 chunky animals and they are so ding dang cute!

Ahoy! Catalina...

Sisters' Weekend is a magical retreat that happens once a year where all responsibilities are forgot for a weekend and instead there is good food, massages, a lot of booze, a lot of laughing and debauchery!

My sister Grace and I started Sisters' weekend in 2012 with a weekend trip to Catalina as memorialized herein!

The paper and stitcker embellishments are all from the Authentique Fresh Collection. If applicable, I will note where other embellishments are from under the photos (if I can remember)! The album is a 6x8 blue chevron SN@P album.

Top 14 of 2014: A Year of Layouts...

As we say goodbye to 2014 it's fun to look back and reflect upon the friendships, memories, good times (and bad) and get ready to welcome 2015! Here are 14 of my favorite personal highlights from  2014:

1. Getting our puppy Jaxson,
2. Learning to knit two scarves,
3. Going to Nashville and Memphis with Tracy and Kristen,
4. Spending a weekend in Napa with my sisters,
5. Our family vacation to San Diego,
6. My best friend getting married,
7. Taking Anson's 85 year old Grandmother to her first Giants game,
8. Making the Paper Issues and Color Cast Designs design teams,
9. Watching the Giants win their 3rd World Series in 5 years,
10. Leaving the firm I have worked at for 7.5 years and joining a new firm,
11. Celebrating our 4th anniversary together,
12. Spending 5 days in Palm Springs with Anson, John and Renee,
13. Finally getting a King size bed and new (read: matching!) bedroom furniture and
14. Crate training our dogs to sleep in their own beds at night rather than ours.

I also love looking back on what I created for the year and here are my 14 favorite layouts from 2014:

This is the layout that I did for my first official post as a member of the Paper Issues DT using my favorite line of the year, Gramercy Road by Gossamer Blue!

I used a 4x4 We R Memory Keepers album and Gramercy Road from Gossamer Blue for this album of our 2013 family photos! I love how this came out!

This picture of Olivia and Nikki melts my heart every time I see it! I used True Friends by Fancy Pants for this layout!

I absolutely LOVE this photo of Lily! I used the Studio Calico 24th Street Scrapbook Kit and Kris Kringle add on for this one!

A layout of Anson and I at my happy place, AT&T Stadium; home of the San Francisco Giants! I used Studio Calico's Neverland Scrapbook Kit for this one -- I love the script background paper designed by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.

Another favorite using the Studio Calico Neverland Kit is this layout of my friend Farah and I in San Francisco after having lunch at the Ferry Building.

This layout of Connor in the hospital after breaking his arm was inspried by a Studio Calico sketch using the Neverland Scrapbook Kit.

I love this layout of baby Olivia because she looks like a piggy! I hand stitched that heart and I am very proud of it! I used the Front Row Scrapbook Kit from Studio Calico here.

Another layout inspired by a Studio Calico sketch, I used some older K & Co. papers for this cute LO of my nieces.

Walking the furkids; I love when they all line up together like this! I used Fancy Pants' collection, True Friends, for this LO!
